“Clay's Choice or Harry's Star”,
12" Finished Hello to everyone! We had a FABULOUS block turnout in April…40 blocks were submitted for the drawing (and I think that was a record!). Ruth Ann E. & Debbie T. each won 10 blocks and Sara E. was extra lucky and won 20. Thanks to all who contributed blocks and congratulations to the winners. So, continuing with the “name” block theme this year, June’s block, “Clay’s Choice”, should be made from RED, WHITE, & BLUE fabrics. Since we don’t meet in July, I chose these patriotic colors because the blocks can be turned over to Quilts of Valor if unwanted when won. With this possibility in mind, please don’t use sparkly or large floral fabrics in your blocks. Click on the link for the pattern. Please note: this block can be pieced in two versions…one with a Blue, pinwheel in the center and an alternate way with a Red one in the center…your choice. White or white-on-white fabric is the preferred fabric for the background. This is not a hard block to piece (and is very similar to April’s block).
