Spokane Valley Quilters Guild Mission Statement
Our common interest in quilting brings us together to befriend and encourage each other, to share ideas and skills to gain knowledge of our craft by providing a comprehensive library, experienced teachers, and to participate in community service projects.

What's Offered at SVQG

Spokane Valley Quilters Guild offers a lot of options for our members.  We have an extensive Library of quilting and related books that are available for checkout to members at most of our meetings.  A variety of Classes are offered, from quick serger quilts to color workshops to the more complicated skills needed in quilting.  There are Small Groups for those of us who can't get enough quilting done or like working with other quilters.  Members also help with fundraising for our Guild and donate to many community service projects. We contribute to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Spokane Valley Partners, Camp Goodtimes, Mission Community  Outreach, Cancer Care Northwest, Crosswalk, Operation Smile, Sally's House, and many others.  We work on our donations at Community Service Work Days. We have a Newsletter that is published 6 times a year.

The Valley Heritage Museum recently accepted a quilt from the Spokane Valley Library made by the Spokane Valley Quilters Guild back in 1991.  It hung in the Library for many years at the midpoint of the stairs.  It features points of interest in the Valley: Kaiser, lakes and the river, the old Opportunity School, and the Opportunity Township Hall, etc.
It won 3rd place at the 1991 Washington State Quilter’s Show.
Titled: "Windows of the Valley"
The designers and quilters are listed on the back.  They are: Design by Manda Benton; Blocks by Jeanne Wilson, Dolores Holman, Myrtle Ramsey, Pam Clarke, Bev Freeman, Barbara Gamble, Terrie Kralik, Len Chapman, Donna Bouche, Joyce Wolfe, Dorothy Davis, Gwen Gordon, Ida Martin, Manda Benton. Center: Maureen Foster, Terrie Kralik, Linda Sullivan, Nancy Wood, and Quilter: Pam Clarke.

SVQG History

SVQG began over 40 years ago.  Originally, in 1980, we started with 20 members and met at various places; homes, the old All Saints Episcopal Church, and the Library.

Back then, quilting was undergoing a revival and people just wanted to learn.  We worked on our own and community projects.  Since then, we've grown to 100 members and meet at the Valley Assembly of God, located at 15618 E. Broadway Ave, Spokane Valley, WA.  (Corner of Sullivan and Broadway Ave, across from Michael's)

General Membership Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of February, April, June, August, October, and December at 6:30 p.m. (NOTICE NEW TIME) Everyone is Welcome.

Board Meetings are held on alternate months on the first Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., via Zoom.

Spokane Valley Quilters Guild takes pride in being an influential non-profit organization in the greater Spokane area.  SVQG members take part in an annual raffle quilt that is assembled by its members who then vend raffle tickets throughout the year so that a lucky individual may win the quilt at the October Membership meeting.  This allows SVQG to support the community through charity quilts by donating to organizations in Spokane, such as Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Spokane Valley Partners, Crosswalk, Camp Goodtimes, Operation Smile, Mission Community Outreach, Cancer Care Northwest, and Quilts of Valor (click on link for requirements).
