PROGRAMS
The April 2nd SVQG meeting will feature 3 new designers from our area: Annika Johnson is a quilter first and foremost, with almost 13 years of experience. She loves all things cozy and sewing warms her soul most of all. She started Autumn & Lore in 2018 doing custom quilts and recently found a new love in creating patterns and designing new projects. She hopes to expand her business and create more online content to help others create beautiful things too.
Kate Swann is an artist and surface pattern designer who creates fun and unique artwork for fabric. After applying her artistic ability to many different pursuits over the years, jumping into fabric design has proved to be the perfect way to combine her love of art with her love of sewing. She is inspired by the world around her, especially the everyday objects that make up our lives.
Grace Pochis started Chunky Bird Studio in 2022, after she was unable to find a pattern for the felt ornament class she wanted to teach. She has since published patterns for stuffed animals, pet beds, dust covers, pincushions, and more. She is enthusiastic about sharing the unique challenges and delights of sewing 3-D objects, and passionate about writing clear, accessible patterns.
See examples of their work below.

UFO 2024
Hello fellow quilters. Are you ready? Are you ready to get ready?
There are some interesting ideas online from Just Get it Done Quilts, and Pat Sloan. Just to name a couple. They share their organizational methods and some ideas for handling your UFO’s. As I said in October’s letter, I’m not going to pick out those I felt like I SHOULD get done. If it doesn’t make me happy to work on it, It’s not worth it.
So, I suggest you be kind to yourself and pick out the first one for #6 that you are most ready to complete. Please send me your list of 5 or 6.
